Forestview offers the comforts of city life, while still retaining a peaceful country atmosphere, which allows the residents to enjoy a relaxed outdoor lifestyle whilst being in close proximity to Medical Centres and some of the largest hospital facilities in Sydney such as Royal North Shore and Greenwich hospitals etc.
Public transport and amenities are close by with regular bus runs to Chatswood train station and the big Westfield shopping mall.
Forestview is fully accredited by the Aged Care Standards Agency and up to date for the next three years.
The facility is home for a maximum of 56 clients, making it a quiet and non-crowded environment. We offer a variety of single rooms, double rooms and multi rooms. The home is fitted with central, reverse cycle air conditioning. Access is wheelchair friendly and the home has been renovated both inside and out including a quiet relaxing wrap around garden area and a big verandah overlooking the valley.
There is a focus on meaningful activities and maintaining strong connections and relationships with residents and the community. Staff at Forestview deliver a person centered care approach with strong support for choice and decision making by the individual residents.
A secure environment is also available in our Dementia specific unit. The unit has a full time dedicated Recreational Activity Officer who proactively runs programs specific to the residents needs and abilities
The Mens group is one of our successful programs where our male residents get together for companionship and friendship. Our residents also look forward to happy hour activities, bus trips, concerts, or even just sitting outside to enjoy the fresh air, a cup of tea and scones. Female residents also enjoy all the pampering activities offered by the home, such as beauty therapy, manicure and hand massages, hairdressing, cooking classes, games, and music therapy, movies and also attending outdoor events such as bus trips, shopping sprees, etc.
Forestview is a very multi-cultural facility with residents from various cultural backgrounds.
30% of our residents are from the Chinese community, and we offer a Chinese menu on a daily basis, as well as continental cuisine. We have bi-lingual staff, who can speak Mandarin, Cantonese, and Tagalog.
Our facility specializes in low and high care residents and we employ friendly, qualified and trained staff, around the clock. Our multi-disciplinary team approach is the inspirational core in providing our person centred services to our residents.
